Downloads, from, Laptop, Delete, Useless

How can i delete useless downloads from my laptop?

So over the years I've downloaded a hell of a lot of junk that is no longer useful to me, so now I wanna delete them. The problem is, when I go to my downloads folder and right click whatever it is I want to remove and then click "delete", it takes the file to the recycle bin. I want the file like DELETED deleted, as in removed from my hard drive to free up space for other things. How can I get these things off of my laptop for foreverz?

Empty your recycling bin. And FYI, nothing is ever really "gone", just moved to a different place.
